Performing an Automated Swap

Follow

Changes to a fixture mid-season are inevitable, we offer many different tools to solve this common problem. One of the first steps we recommend is to determine whether you can use one of our built in automated swap functions.

To get started navigate to Competitions -> Swaps.

As you can see there are a number of different swap scenarios for you to choose from.

Swap Teams - Swap Team A with Team B (2 Fixtures)

This scenario should be used when you have a weak team in a strong division (e.g. Div A) and a strong team in a weaker competition (e.g. Div B)

The swap will automatically update the fixture for the strong division (Div A) and the fixture for the weaker competition (Div B).

You can choose the amount of points each team will receive in their new competitions. The options include:

  • Do Not Assign Ladder Figures
  • Link Competition Ladder Figures (This means the teams will keep all their earned points).
  • Assign Ladder Figures Equal to the Competition Average.
  • Assign Ladder Figures Equal to the Bottom Team.

Replace Team with Bye - Replace Withdrawal Team with Bye (1 Fixture)

If a team pulls out mid-way through a competition and you have an even amount of teams then this swap should be used.

The swap will remove the team (that has withdrawn) from the fixture and replace it with a bye.

Replace Team - Replace Withdrawal Team with New Team (1 Fixture)

If a team withdraws from a competition and a new team comes along then this swap should be used.

The swap will remove the team (that has withdrawn) from the fixture and replace it with the new team.

You can choose the amount of points the new team will receive when joining the competition. The options include:

  • Do Not Assign Ladder Figures
  • Assign Ladder Figures Equal to the Competition Average.
  • Assign Ladder Figures Equal to the Bottom Team.

Replace Bye - Replace bye with New Team (1 Fixture)

This swap should be used when you have an odd number of teams in a competition and a new team joins mid-way through.

The system will automatically replace the bye with the new team for all future matches. Please be aware that since a bye is being replaced you will also need to edit the fixture and set the relevant match times.

The following options are available for this swap:

  • Do Not Assign Ladder Figures
  • Assign Ladder Figures Equal to the Competition Average.
  • Assign Ladder Figures Equal to the Bottom Team.

Transfer Team - Transfer a team to a different competition.

This swap behaves a little differently to the ones mentioned above. It will simply transfer a team from one competition to another but will not update the relevant fixture.

A common usage for this swap is when you have an initial grading competition and at the completion of the grading you would like to transfer a team into a new competition.

Again you will have the option of choosing the amount of points the new team will receive. Options include:

  • Do Not Assign Ladder Figures
  • Link Competition Ladder Figures (This means the team will keep all their earned points).
  • Assign Ladder Figures Equal to the Competition Average.
  • Assign Ladder Figures Equal to the Bottom Team.

If none of these swaps are suitable for your particular scenario then please see this help article.
